I did my shark cage dives in False Bay, Seal Island - Cape Town South Africa. I saw it on Discovery and was referred as well.
The trip was more than I imagined. Incredible experience!!!
Apex gave very thorough safety briefings before the dives. Also information on sharks and other marine wildlife... very knowledgeable.
They are incredibly wonderful people - passionate and professional.Out at Sea
I went out on 3 separate days and was out at sea for 6 hours, 10 hours and 6 hours respectively.
The boat was about 30', 10-14 people, not crowded, very personable. The cage could take 2 persons... perfect and the experience was not rushed.
I do have a diving certificate but it wasn't needed.
Enough light sandwiches and soft drinks were provided. The Sharks
They used regular bait and decoys to attract the great white sharks.
I saw more than enough sharks on every trip, 5-10 each time.
The weather was sunny and warm, and the visibility moderate to good.
It was a true adventure - educational, loads of fun, great scenery, abundance of sea life.Accommodation
Mariners Guesthouse, Simons Town. I loved it, large comfortable accommodating rooms, wonderful hosts, great views.Tips and Advice
The most useful items were my camera, all weather jacket, towel and spare swim trunks.
